funding for projects

awards

Each year the Trust selects specific subject areas for project funding.

Awards have been given towards:

travel and research, materials, equipment, fabrication, studio hire, exhibition expenses, academic consultations, documentation, commissioning musical accompaniment, child minding, daily wages etc.

Each year, a single outstanding project is awarded a ‘jack-pot’ prize of one thousand pounds. This is given to the best application regardless of the amount applied for. Most project awards are between £400 and £750. Occasionally a small gift is made for a project which either falls outside our main remit or is in some way deserving of acknowledgement.

The outcome of a project should be a body of knowledge or experience not hitherto possessed. A budget is required as part of the proposal. Applicants may apply for this money in conjunction with other sources of funding. A proportion (around £100) of the award is withheld and paid when the project is completed and a brief resumé and financial statement presented.

Short listed applicants are invited to come to London for an interview.

There is no age limit in this category.

  • Birdlife

To commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Juliet Gomperts’ death in 2009 and the twentieth anniversary of the Juliet Gomperts Trust in 2010, we are currently considering rolling two years income together in 2009 in order to fund more ambitious and possibly longer term projects connected with Pakistan. We are running the Pakistan category this year to find out what interest there is. It is not necessary to go to Pakistan to apply for this category, however applicants who wish to do so must be able to demonstrate that how they will achieve personal safety.

Work in any medium will be considered. Click here for details of how to apply.
