Clive Pates - painter

Tuscany residency 1999

Clive Pates is a mid career artist who now lives in Gulfport, Mississippi.

He paints and also draws and sculpts. These pictures were completed during two seasons of painting at the Ventro Verroccho. The first in 1999 when he was awarded a JGT residency, and the second when he returned the following year under his own steam. More paintings of his work in Casole d'Elsa may be seen on his website which contains extensive portfolio of landscape painting made in the UK and America.

Clive is currently (March 2007) currating an exhibition of contemporary landscape painting called 'The Will to Endure' at the George Ohr Museum of Art Biloxi, Mississippi. If funding is raised, he intends to include works by Graham Giles and Sargy Mann, both teachers from at the Centro Verrocchio.
